If you are in any way connected with the world of business and entrepreneurship, the E-myth is one of those foundational books that everybody in those disciplines should read every few years.
The E-Myth deals with two fundamental issues and tries to debunk the “entrepreneurial myth”, the fatal assumption that an individual who understands the technical work of a business can successfully run a business that does that technical work, and that -perhaps- most people who start small businesses are natural-born entrepreneurs.
The first one, is perhaps one of the biggest reasons for frustration for small business owners, to the point of getting to hate the craft that they once loved. That may sound grim, but the second one, offers great hope in that entrepreneurship, running a business and not letting it run you, can be learned, mostly by what the author calls the “business development process” and the business “turn key” revolution.
Why read it?
Will give you a few basic rules to run your business and be successful at it, and better than that, to get your life back. On top of that, it is a book filled with anecdotes and stories, fun to read.
